Lisa Jenner has been working in the Rye Schools for the past seven years, and has been teaching Latin for 32 years. Since 2004, she has been chairperson of the Foreign Language Department for the Rye City School District and was responsible for instituting the every day foreign language in the 6th grade program. She also instituted the Foreign Language Elementary School program in which students begin a foreign language during elementary school. Her love for the Rye schools and Rye students is most evident in her devotion to the annual trip to Europe for high school students. She spends countless hours of her own time organizing and chaperoning this trip, which is a much anticipated event for the participating students. She truly goes “above and beyond” for our kids. |
