Announcement of new board members for 2011-2012

Laura Beber grew up in Toronto, Canada and moved to New York with her family in 2003. She graduated from Wilfrid Laurier University (Waterloo, Ontario) with a BA in psychology and business. She worked in computers for the financial industry until 2000. She lives in Rye with her husband Michael, and three teenage boys. She has been involved in the community, the schools, and the boy’s hockey teams and has been involved in the Open Door benefit concert 2009, RCDS book fair raffle, fundraising for son’s hockey team, and the Rye Youth Council auction 2011.

 


Mason Burnham
moved to Rye in the summer of 2010. Mason co-chairs the Osborn PTO Gardening and the After School Club Committees, serves as Troop Leader for her daughter’s Daisy Scout Troop and helps out at the Osborn Elementary Library. She also volunteers for Literacy Volunteers of Westchester, Inc., and has previously taught adult literacy with Literacy Volunteers of New York City and Learn to Read in Florida. While in Florida, Mason served as Advertising Committee Co-Chair for the annual Spring for the Arts event for Cathedral Arts Project. With a background in communications, Mason continues to provide public relations services on a freelance basis to a range of clients. Mason received her B.A. in International Relations from Florida State University. Mason and her husband have a first-grader and a second-grader at Osborn Elementary School.

 

Stephen Fairchild has lived in Rye with his wife and son, a high school senior, for over 15 years. He works as a Senior Producer of Television and Media for the Wildlife Conservation Society where he oversees all television and film projects that deal with global conservation programs. He previously worked as principal and owner at Drew/Fairchild Inc, where he created and produced science based programs. He is involved with RCTV and various sports organizations in Rye. He has a B.A. from Southern Illinois University and MFA from Carnegie Mellon University. He has traveled extensively around the world.

 

 

Lisa Hogan (Luthringer) has lived in Rye with her husband since 1998. They have three boys (ages 11, 9 and 7). Lisa currently serves on the Vestry of Christ’s Church, on the Executive Committee of Christ’s Church Nursery School, on the Membership Committee of Shenorock Shore Club and as a class parent at Osborn. Previously, Lisa chaired the Harlem Wizard’s fundraiser for Osborn and has co-chaired the Osborn Carnival. She has also been involved in the community as a volunteer with the 34th Twig, 40th Twig and Rye Historical Society. In addition, Lisa has her own event/marketing company and is a licensed real estate salesperson with Sotheby’s International Realty in Rye.
